The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on “GRAMMY Sunday,” Jan. 31, 2010, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8–11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Warning: Lemmy Sings “Stand By Me”

Anybody pining for a Lemmy solo record need only give the first 30 seconds of this song a listen to realize that the world needs a living, breathing Motörhead to exist in perpetuity. Slayer’s Dave Lombardo appears on the track, as well, giving more pause for serious contemplation. Nice triangle work! This abomination of music appears on Flip Skateboard’s Extremely Sorry Soundtrack. Where’s Wendy O. Williams when you need her?

Slayer Postpone Canadian Tour

Slayer - World Painted Blood

Slayer have postponed their upcoming Canadian Carnage tour (scheduled to include Megadeth, among others) and a scheduled appearance on American television show Jimmy Kimmel Live. Whilst Slayer fans are streaming into record stores on Tuesday to pick up the band’s new album, World Painted Blood, frontman Tom Araya will be undergoing back surgery in Texas. The rest of the band will, however, appear at Hot Topic in Hollywood on Wednesday to sign copies of the new record.
